Strategy Guide

FIGHT OVERVIEW
  • This fight has 3 phases and 2 intermissions.

  • It's a high dps-check with a lot lot required movements.

  • Off tanks must drink a potion on Putricide's table to control a Mutated Abomination.

  • The Mutated Abomination is a core mechanic of the encounter.

Heroic Changes
  • Professor Putrice gains a DoT transmissible to other players in range.

  • The intermissions are entirely different. Putricide now summons both a Volatile Ooze and a Gas Cloud at the same time.

  • During the intermissions, half of the raid gets a red debuff and the other half a green debuff.

  • Players can only damage the Ooze with the same color as their debuff.

  • Malleable Goo and Choking Gas debuffs are increased.

Phase 1

This phase lasts until Putricide reaches 80% HP.


He throws AoEs and summons a green and a red ooze alternatively from the respective pipes in the room.


Putricide should be placed under the green ooze pipe to have a maximum DPS uptime on it.


Wait for the puddle to be dropped before placing him under the pipe, you don't want any slime puddles there!

Growing Puddle

Putricide throws 2 AoEs near the random players. They inflict damage and grow until completely "drunk".


The off-tank controlling the Mutated Abomination should use its ability to "drink" the AoEs and generate energy.


Drink one of the puddles immediately and "play" a little with the other to optimize energy generation.

Volatile Ooze Adhesive
3s Cast

Green oozes root and fixates a random player, inflicting a DoT.


When they spawn, green Oozes become the priority target. They should be slowed by the Mutated Abomination.


Upon reaching their target they explode in AoE, inflicting heavy damage split between players and pets soaking, and knocks them back. Until you kill the Ooze, make sure enough players are soaking the AoE.

Gaseous Bloat
Fixate

Red Oozes apply a heavy hitting DoT on a random player and fixate them. The DoT starts at 10 stacks and loses one with each tick. It changes targets at 0 stacks.


The higher the stacks, the higher the DoT damage. If the red Ooze reaches its target, it explodes and inflicts damage to the raid proportional to the stacks, possibly leading to a wipe.


Kite the ooze until it's dead. Melee go away from the ooze when it has low stacks and will change target! The off-tank's Mutated Abomination should slow it.

Unbound Plague
Ramping DoT

The boss applies the Plague DoT on a random player that ramps up in damage over time. When an ally is within 5 yards of the debuffed player, the debuff jumps to them.


Upon jumping, the host receives a 1 minute 250% vulnerability to the DoT.


DoT'd player should spread away for 10 to 12 seconds before passing the DoT to another non vulnerable ally. It becomes harder to manage as the fight goes on.


Alternatively, you can let the first player affected die - unless it's a healer, don't waste their mana - and resurrect them right after.

Instant

The tank controlling the Mutated Abomination can eat the Slime Puddle.


This increases the abominations' energy, enabling other abilities.

Ramping DoT

The boss applies the Plague DoT on a random player that ramps up in damage over time. When an ally is within 5 yards of the debuffed player, the debuff jumps to them.

Bomb Debuff

Heroic changes: The debuff reduces the hit chance by 100%, up from 75%.


The boss drops 2 gas vials under its feet. After 3s, a 3yd poison pool appears and applies a 15s 100% hit chance debuff to players standing in them.


After 20s the vials explode in a 10yd AoE. This deals massive damage, knocks back the players, and inflicts the debuff again.


Move the boss immediately and watch your feet!

Debuff

Heroic Change: the debuff is increased to 250% and lasts 20 seconds.


Putricide throws a bouncing projectile at 1 random range player (3 players in 25 man). Upon reaching their target, they explode and inflict a 20s 250% attack and cast speed debuff to players hit.


It's easier to dodge if you are far from the boss!

Intermission

There are 2 intermissions. The first one is at 80% HP, and the second is at 35% HP.

In heroic, instead of stunning the raid, Putricide summons a Volatile Ooze and a Gas Cloud at the same time.

You have roughly 45s to deal with both before the boss comes back. Players can only damage the Ooze with the same color as their debuff.


Mutated Abomination should save a lot energy to slow the Oozes during this phase.

The Mutated Abomination disappears but Slime Puddles are still thrown, manage the space wisely!


Green and Red Ooze don't spawn anymore.


You have about 1:45 maximum to kill the boss. Use bloodlust here.

Stackable DoT

A deadly DoT gets applied to Putricide's target every 10s. It deals damage to the raid and inflicts 3x more damage with each stack.


Never have more than 4 stacks on a player. Use some DPS with taunt and some big defensive to save some time and absorb a stack.


If a player dies with the mutated plague debuff, it heals the boss by a huge amount, likely leading to a wipe.
